Print approval

In the printing process, print approval is that point in time at which the planned final product is available in technically print-ready form. Here, after the editing of text, layout and images, the client will receive a test press proof (PDF) or a proof before the final print run in the planned quantity takes place. The print approval is the last chance for the client to make corrections of any kind. If he finds no errors, he declares the print data is ready for printing (see also: Good for Print), whereupon the final print production starts. The print approval is particularly important in work-sharing production, as the printing company is liable for all deviations from the submitted proof, but the client for all errors that have not been queried.
