International Material Data System. To meet the End of Life Vehicles Directive that from 2005 requires 95% recyclability, well-known car companies have jointly developed the IMDS. Suppliers archive all materials used in vehicle and make these ingredients available to their customers via the Internet. Labels are also included amongst the materials. Thus the composition is traceable, making an optimal recycling process possible.
